ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFER #133-24-1 TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM EXPENDITURE RESERVE ACCOUNT ($500,000), ASSESSOR’S LAPSED SALARY ACCOUNT ($100,000), COMMUNITY SERVICES LAPSED SALARY ACCOUNT ($50,000), YOUTH & RECREATION LAPSED SALARY ACCOUNT ($50,000), TRAFFIC & PARKING LAPSED SALARY ACCOUNT ($50,000), AND FINANCE LAPSED SALARY ACCOUNT ($54,000) INTO CORPORATION COUNSEL LEGAL SERVICE BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $800,000 AND AMENDING THE AGREEMENTS OF BERCHEM MOSES; HALLORAN & SAGE; HOWD & LUDORF; KARSTEN & TALLBERG; MACCINI, VOCCIO & JORDAN; MILANO & WANAT; AND SUSMAN, DUFFY & SEGALOFF, IN EXCESS OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS

WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-383 (1) of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders for the transfer of funds within the General Fund Operating Budget, as adopted; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-376 (A) of the Code of General Ordinances requires Board of Alders approval for any city contract that does not go to bid that costs more than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00); and
WHEREAS, The Office of Corporation Counsel legal service account is projected to go over budget for fiscal year 2023-24; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Berchem Moses (#60240080) will be amended from $99,000 to $223,000 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Halloran & Sage (#60240052) will be amended from $99,500 to $149,500 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Howd & Ludorf (#60240036) will be amended from $99,500 to $377,500 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Karsten & Tallberg (#60240035) will be amended from $75,000 to $170,000 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Maccini, Voccio & Jordan (#60240051) will be amended from $75,000 to $136,500 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Milano & Wanat (#60240050) will be amended from $75,000 to $200,000 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, The legal service agreement for Susman, Duffy & Segaloff (#60240032) will be amended from $99,500 to $149,500 for fiscal year 2023-2024; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that:

Transfer #133-24-1 be approved to transfer Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($804,000) from Expenditure Reserve Account ($500,000), Assessor’s Lapsed Salary Account ($100,000), Community Services Lapsed Salary Account $50,000), Youth & Recreations Lapsed Salary Account ($50,000), Traffic & Parking Lapsed Salary Account ($50,000), and Finance Lapsed Salary Account ($54,000) into the Office of Corporation Counsel legal service account. |
