ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS MODIFYING THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AT THE INTERSECTION OF GRAND AVENUE AND FRONT STREET.
body
WHEREAS, the Public Right-of-Way is accepted by the Board of Alders; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven will be rehabilitating the Grand Avenue Bridge over the Quinnipiac River; and
WHEREAS, the Rehabilitation consists of the replacement of both approach spans. To that end the intent is to extend the sidewalk on the southwestern side of the bridge to a minimum width of 10 feet to provide a shared use path; and
WHEREAS, the increased sidewalk width will require an approximately 3 foot expansion of the public right-of-way in perpetuity; and
WHEREAS, the City requests an expansion of the public right-of-way by 15 feet until July 1, 2022 to facilitate the proposed activities; and
WHEREAS, the expansion of the public right-of-way is not a modification of the size of the underlying parcel of park land; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven is the affected property owner of the parcel in question;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED that the Public Right-of-Way be modified at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Front Street as per the Map entitled “Right of Way Modifications” dated January 11, 2019. As indicated on the Map, the expansion of the right-of-way by 15 feet will revert on July 1, 2022 to an expansion by only approximately 3 feet in perpetuity.
