RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF NEW HAVEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A NON-PRIORITY GRANT AT A GRANT REIMBURSEMENT RATE OF 67.86% FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES OFFICE OF SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION GRANT REVIEW (CTDAS/OSCGR) FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ROOF AT WILBUR CROSS HIGH SCHOOL AND TO EXECUTE, ACKNOWLEDGE, IMPLEMENT AND DELIVER ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE WITH RESPECT THERETO.

WHEREAS, the Board of Education must replace the roof at Wilbur Cross High School; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, previously authorized the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the roof replacement project at Wilbur Cross High School on May 5, 2025 at a grant reimbursement rate of 67.86% in the amount of about $3,800,160; and,
WHEREAS, the total project cost amount has changed and thus the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools is seeking to update the grant amount being applied for; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, hereby authorizes the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the roof replacement project at Wilbur Cross High School at a grant reimbursement rate of 67.86% in the amount of about $5,155,106; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven names its Citywide School Buildings and Stewardship Committee as the building committee with regard to the roof replacement project at Wilbur Cross High School; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, hereby authorizes at least the preparation of schematic drawings and outline specifications for the roof replacement project at the Wilbur Cross High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven:
(1) that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven authorizes the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the roof replacement project at the Wilbur Cross High School at a grant reimbursement rate of 67.86%; and,
(2) that the Board of Alders of the City of Haven names its Citywide School Buildings and Stewardship Committee as the building committee with regard to the roof replacement project at the Wilbur Cross High School; and,
(3) that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, hereby authorizes at least the preparation of schematic drawings and outline specifications for the roof replacement project at the Wilbur Cross High School.
